- Spear of honorable Hanzo Masanari Hattori, the founder
This is a spear that was given to him by Ieyasu Tokugawa as a gift because of various military exploits which gave him a nickname “Demon Hanzo”.
The head was broken due to the earthquake of the Ansei era, and the handle was burnt down by the air raid of World War II.
The current total length is about 258 cm, the thickness is about 5 cm, and the weight is about 7.5 kg.
It is registered as one of cultural properties of Shinjuku-ku.
- Tomb of honorable Hanzo Masanari Hattori, the founder
He became a Buddhist monk and founded the Sainen-ji temple to pray to the Buddha for the repose of the honorable Nobuyasu.
His Buddhist name is “専称 (Sensho) 院殿前石州安譽(Indenzensekishuanyo) 西念 (Sainen) 大禅定門 (Daizenjomon)”.
- Memorial tower for honorable Nobuyasu Matsudaira
The hair of the honorable Nobuyasu, the eldest son of honorable Ieyasu, is housed in the memorial tower.
The Mausoleum is at Kiyotaki Temple in Hamamatsu City.
His Buddhist name is "清 (Sei) 瀧寺 (Roji) 殿 (Den) 前 (Zen) 三州 (Sanshu) 達岩 (Tatsugan) 善通 (Zentsu) 大居士 (Daikoji)".
- Large Nirvana painting
It is the Nirvana painting depicting how the Buddha passed away.
It is displayed in the main hall from February 1 to the end of the month every year.
About 284 cm in length, about 200 cm in width
- The painting of sixteen divine generals of Tokugawa
Painted in the late Edo period; Bunjin style scroll.
The painting contains the portraits of 16 warlords who fought with the honorable Ieyasu Tokugawa through the Age of Civil Wars. The honorable Hattori Masanari Hanzo is also included here. It seems to have become popular along with Toshogu Shrine Faith.
About 180 cm in length, about 66 cm in width
- Study hall redeveloped from Otaki Castle’s main building (a part of main hall)
The former main hall was burnt down during the World War II. When it was rebuilt later, a part of the Kazusa Otaki Castle’s main building was relocated thanks to the goodwill of a person related to the temple. The castle was once resided by Lord Tadakatsu Honda famous as one of the Tokugawa Four Heavenly Kings.

Goshuin (Seal stamp for submission of copied sutra)
We offer two kinds of goshuin.
Charge for submission is ¥ 500 each (with a post card).
The origin of goshuin is described as follows:Prayers copied sutra and submitted them to temples to form a connection with Buddha for various reasons.
- For memorial service of ancestors
- For fulfillment of various requests
Nowadays, some people regards their memory of visiting temples as if enjoying a stamp rally.
The following will be posted once they are ready.
We also offer "Easy-going sutra copying" which you can easily copy sutra until goshuin stamp is completed, or a slightly formal sutra copying (A4 size).
The benefits of sutra copying are as follows
- Eliminate stress of daily life through short term concentration
- A little stimulation to your everyday life in which you have lost opportunities of writing with your hands because of computers or smartphones
- Connect with Buddha
